Structural Health Monitoring for Bridge Crane Based on Low Temperature-Sensitivity FBG Sensors

Accurate measurement of the stain variation and effective distinguishment temperature-induced stress from load-induced have been major objectives for strain sensors in crane monitoring. In this paper, a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor with low temperature-sensitivity, packaged by two gripper tubes stainless-steel tubes, is presented applied bridge health monitoring project. Calibration experiments reliability tests are conducted to evaluate transferring characteristics laboratory environment. The results show that temperature coefficient decreases 10.5 pm/°C 1.5 increases 1.2 pm/ ?? 4.8pm/??. On other hand, on-site these FBG advantage precision, reliability, applicability. Meanwhile, temperature-sensitivity nature verified test results, which shows its promising potential crane.
